in Agriculture and Rural Development
Press Release : 03 March 2011
The People’s Coalition on Food Sovereignty (PCFS) is organizing an Africa-wide Regional Multistakeholder
Forum on Aid and Development Effectiveness on Agriculture and Rural Development to be
held in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania on April 7-8, 2011. The event will be hosted by the United Republic of

A CSO consultation meeting will be held on the 7th of April, also in Dar Es Salaam, prior to the multistakeholder
forum. Twenty-six CSOs from 19 countries in Africa will be joined by representatives from

initiatives and programs. This is in line with broadening implementation of the Accra Agenda for Action
(AAA) advancing the aid and development effectiveness agenda on ARD.
Outcomes of the CSO consultation meeting will be presented at the multi-stakeholder forum, which will
be attended by other development actors in the field of agriculture. Representatives from the Ministry of
Agriculture and Planning Commission of the Republic of Tanzania, and donor representatives from the
Global Donor Platform for Rural Development (GDPRD) are expected to attend.
